Freedom Hill Elementary School

Freedom Hill Elementary School is located in Vienna, Virginia. Our team was fortunate to be invited to their science fair, where we presented our organization and connected with students and families in the community.

Students

Throughout the evening, students built, designed, and learned using the LEGO SPIKE kits our team provided. We offered guidance and instructions, but encouraged students to think critically about how each step of the process worked. By the end of the event, over 30 students had successfully built a robot and written code to make it run.

Parents

While students were engaged with the SPIKE kits, we spoke with parents about our organization and shared our mission. Many were surprised to learn that we host these events for free or at a very low cost. By the end of the night, 21 parents signed up for our mailing list to learn more about our upcoming spring camp and other future opportunities.
